Diagnosing and treating conditions that affect women. Dr Seedat provides a comfortable space where women can receive medical care for their physical and emotional conditions. Women have multiple roles to play in society, being nurturers we tend to care for others at times forgetting to prioritize our own health. Dr Seedats aim is for her patients to be mindful of their health and well being, by developing a good sense of mind-body awareness. Services offered are Pap smears, breast screenings, contraception, ante natal care.

Ante natal care

A type of preventative health care offered to pregnant women. Dr Seedat offers ante natal care to optimize maternal and fetal health, to make medical intervention available to women where indicated to prepare women for motherhood. The aim is to identify high risk pregnancies and educate women so that they may expect a healthier outcome. Dr Seedat assists mums with basic abdominal ultrasound scan up to 16 weeks gestation. The scan is able to assess gestational age, presence of fetal heart, assess fetal viability and exclude ectopic pregnancies.

Paediatrics

Dr Seedat has a passion for paediatrics and being a mum of two children she understands how important it is to have a general practitioner that you trust to care for your children.

Primary Health Care

Dr Seedat ensures patient receive quality, comprehensive care ranging from prevention to treatment and rehabilitation. Dr Seedat is a huge advocate for health screenings, screenings are medical tests doctors use to check for diseases before there are any signs or symptoms. Screenings help find problems early on in the disease process when they are easier to treat. Blood tests may be used to identify and monitor many conditions.A wellness panel will include testing for diabetes, thyroid disease, cholesterol, kidney disease and prostrate disease. Blood tests are a simple way to establish your risk level for these diseases.

ECG also known as electrocardiograph is an important part of heart disease screening. This non invasive test can identify rhythm changes, ischaemic changes and detect myocardial infarction (heart attack )

Dr Seedat will offer a referral to specialists when needed.

COVID 19 protocol and management

If you are symptomatic and/or have been in contact with a COVID positive patient and you require testing  you will need to first schedule a telephonic consultation with Dr Seedat, thereafter the necessary forms for testing at the drive through center will be provided

All patients entering the practice will need to wear a face mask. Either a surgical mask or cloth mask. Buffs and scarves not accepted as an adequate face mask.

Dr Seedat will wear a N95 during all consultations. The safety of the patient is of utmost importance!

No family members allowed into consulting room or waiting area. Minors may be accompanied by one parent. Only the patient will be allowed into the rooms. Anybody accompanying the patient will be required to wait outside or in their car.

Please be punctual for your appointments, time slots are given to allow for social distancing and disinfecting between patients.

If you have tested posture for COVID 19, Dr Seedat will explain how she will manage your condition going forward. Depending on your risk profile Dr Seedat will advise that you have a panel of blood test done.

The blood requisition form will be emailed to the patient. If the patient is too ill to go to the lab Dr Seedat will have a sister draw bloods at your home (call out fee for the nurse)

The patient will be advised to begin home based physiotherapy exercises, a worksheet explaining the various exercises will be emailed to the patient. If the patient requires a Physiotherapy consultation, Dr Seedat can arrange for a Physio to do a consultation at your home.

Dr Seedat encourages that patient check in with her during their 10 days of COVID for telephonic consultations timeously. Repeat blood samples will be advised during the 10 days of COVID. This rigorous approach to COVID management allows for early detection of the COVID Storm so that appropriate intervention can be initiated.

Once the 10 days of COVID have been completed patients are encouraged to visit the rooms for face to face consultation with Dr Seedat. During this consultation Dr Seedat will assess for any signs and symptoms of long COVID, blood samples will be requested and an ECG will be done. Referral to the necessary specialist, allied health care workers (Physiotherapist, psychologist, occupational therapist) can be arranged if required.

The patient is supported and cared for during COVID. Dr Seedat and her staff are empathetic towards the fear and anxiety the patient might experience during their 10 days of isolation and try their best to support the patient through this challenging time.
